Secret Life of Mountain Lions

I live in an area where mountain lions walk in the shadows of our woodsy backyards. They're always there but never seen. I think this video is important because people think that mountain lions are a threat to us, when in fact it's the other way around. If the probability of a mountain lion dying young is 2/3 and our impact on their deaths is 1/3 then we know this species will go extinct if we don't educate ourselves. They don't reproduce fast enough to sustain their species if we keep allowing trophy hunting and destroying their habitats. I learned that mountain lions live almost like lions, they have strong family bonds and the mother will take care of her young until they're ready to go off on their own. I also learned that they keep in contact with dad, once in a while they might see him come by for a meal. I have learned to think about mountain lions differently after watching this. My last image of a mountain lion was a warning sign outside a regional park. The mental image I have of a mountain lion now is the picture of mom cuddling with her babies.

If you want to learn more about mountain lions watch this video Secret Life of Mountain lions.
